We bring you a special theatre edition today in honour of a play by Alice Pol, our face of 2011!
She was the heroine of our Autumn/Winter 2011 video.
The play is entitled “C’est tout droit… ou l’inverse” (“Go straight on, or the other way round”) and is currently showing at Théâtre Michel in Paris.

This is the story of an encounter between Violette, an exuberant and lively character, and Thomas, a man stuck in his ways. Chance leads them to spend the night together in a train, where they gradually reveal themselves over the course of the journey. But we will say no more for fear of ruining it for you!
This may be a romantic comedy, but it never veers off into corniness and is far more Woody Allen than Julia Roberts. The play is a shrewd blend of realism and poetry, with touches of surrealism. Here, matters of the heart are dealt with intelligently and with humour. The actors are sincere, touching and very funny. There is little doubt that we will be seeing them on the big screen very soon!
