We have already revealed several pieces from our new Fall/Winter 2012-13 collection here. More and more of you have been asking us about it, so it is now time to discover exactly what the trends are for our next collection, prettily named Arty Bird in tribute to the collection’s arty inspirations: Art Deco, Bauhaus, Klimt and Egon Schiele. The movements have been given a rock, mod or urban romance twist.
We went to rummage around the designers’ offices and have brought back a few sketches for you!
Let’s start with the Mods meet Bauhaus trend. But what is “Bauhaus”? It originally referred to a crafts and fine arts school founded in Germany in 1919 and, by extension, denotes an artistic movement. We have kept the architectural style, straight, sparse lines and bright colors such as lipstick red, while adding a little rock ‘n’ roll, rebellious twist. Graphic lines, yes, but mixed with flowing volumes. Cropped blousons with square edges are paired with loose, slightly offbeat pants or flowing skirts. A stylish, modern and dynamic look to start off the winter on the right foot.

Let’s now cross over the border to Austria and take our inspiration from a major artist: Egon Schiele. We are kept the sobriety of this allegorist artist and his mix of explosive colors with very soft tones. This color palette is combined with couture fabrics such as suede and silk. The egg-shaped coats are made of bouclé wool. Kimono-inspired tops and dresses in silk printed with an exclusive pattern, as if faded by time. Mohair knit takes the form of large extremely low-cut masculine sweaters or tank tops with a plunging neckline. Everything is so soft and flowing that you want to curl up and stay put. A cozy atmosphere guaranteed!

We remain in Austria to end with another artist who left his mark on his time: Gustav Klimt. His symbolist paintings, characteristic of Art Nouveau, are known the world over for their decorative opulence and the sensuality that they exude. In this theme, the materials are therefore precious and the cuts enveloping. Particular attention has been paid to details, and the color gold plays center stage. It even appears in the embroidery. Pants tailored in deep velvets go with loose blouses with trompe l’œil effects. Richness given a contemporary feel with a reinterpretation of the bourgeois codes. All is luxury, calm and bliss…

Has all this inspired you? Perhaps you have already spotted several pieces?
