Last weekend it was Solidays, in July, Calvi on the Rocks, in August, Rock en Seine… the summer’s must-go festivals are fast approaching – not counting the up-and-coming festivals that are springing up everywhere; the latest discovery to date is the Big Festival in Biarritz, from July 18 to 22 with Peter Doherty, Birdy Nam Nam, The Rapture, etc. – and it is time to hone your style so that you look like you have ALWAYS been there ;).



And what better for this special festival shoot than a pretty folk girl? We found Joy after a Facebook casting and we are delighted to have been able to meet this lively girl full of joie de vivre, a real whirlwind of good cheer! Joy is a musician and singer in a folk group, Mockery Box (which was the support act for Yael Naim a year ago, among others), where she sings simple, catchy melodies and composes the lyrics and music with her boyfriend on the guitar.

She also has a second electro/folk group, My summer bee, which started with a bang in late 2011, opening for Marianne Faithfull in concert.

An EP is being prepared for fall 2012, and you can find them on 6 September at the OFF COURTS Franco-Quebecker festival in Trouville.

Joy has also been a fan of Comptoir since she was 14 and very often wears Comptoir on stage! She “loves the folk, kind of hippy chic vibe” of the current collection, which is just as well because thanks to her, we have been able to bring life and movement to two rock ‘n’ folk looks bang on trend at the moment. And what’s more, she picked up a guitar!

First look: a pinch of glam’ folk (denim shorts + boots), a touch of cool (parka over T-shirt with embroidered front) and a hint of rock (the headband and guitar ;) to crown it all.

The second look, a little more “cowgirl” with a straw hat, suede ankle boots and denim on denim, i.e. an open denim shirt over raw skinny jeans. A little touch of originality: the multi-colored woven leather clutch.
